Boutiques We Love

Having spent a few days in Miami last week, I’m feeling pretty tropical and more colourful than usual. Maybe its the tan i’ve picked up or my binge use of the rainbow emoji, but most probably it’s because i’ve been stalking the Ashley Isham SS17 show, which was kitsch maximalism at it’s best!

The collection reminded me of the kind of thing i’d wear if a) I was a human twister ice lolly, or b) I was sipping cocktails whilst floating on a flamingo lilo on spring break!

Sadly I wasn’t able to go to the show because acting duties called, but here’s a couple of my favourite looks along with some exclusive backstage snaps:

The show was prints galore! I loved how the menswear was even more bold than the women’s, showing that it’s not all about being understated Indie as a guy in 2016. Most of the looks used clashing prints which were hectic to look at…but in a really good way!

The retro disco vibe was one of the most killer themes of the collection for me. I’m a big fan of the this two piece it reminds me of those rubix cubes that I could never solve, and the metallic trousers are just so disco mermaid!

BIG accessories were my favourite element of the show. One of my mantras when getting dressed is maximalism, more is more especially when it comes to colours and jewellery! The giant pompoms were an absolute winner, and the oversized sunhats took the collection to a whole new level of Monaco chic!

I want to finish off with this look, because who isn’t a sucker for a velvet catsuit, especially when it’s worn by a guy standing in front of a hot pink flamingo?!

Ashley Isham, I salute you, you’ve done a successful job of making the holiday blues real…bring on the Maldives at the end of this month!
