2016 is pretty much done-dilly-done and i’m rather excited for 2017, mainly because YGSF has a very VERY exciting new project launching! However, that’s not to say that i’m not kind of miffed the year is over. According to my Instagram feed it was a good year for festivals, outrageous outfits, and the launch of the watermelownn-unicorn! So as a goodbye gift to 2016, here’s a bunch of our most fiery looks from this year!
(Shirt: Isolated Heroes, Jeans: H&M)
Let’s start strong. The human disco ball is on the list for obvious reasons. The sequinned shirt and Vetments platforms are a combo that you’d definitely find in Studio 54! This outfit is also a goodun’ because it’s an example of how block colouring doesn’t have to be boring.
Vogue Festival was always going to be key in terms of statement looks. This year it marked the start of our kimono obsession. Its safe to say since my trip to Tokyo in 2014 (I think?) my soft spot for Japanese fashion has only grown…
2016 was also a strong year for coats. The first shaggy number accompanied me to Paris Fashion Week, it’s also House of Holland and we couldn’t talk 2016 without mentioning the crazy genius that is Henry. The second speaks for itself, Saint Laurent at its utter BEST!
This year i’ve done a lot of vintage collaborations. One of which lead me to this double denim Katherine Hamnett suit. It’s loud, bonkers, and was shot on my favourite road in London, Portobello Road.

Sometimes I don’t dress like a mad rainbow person. My shoot with Browns was an example of this, I wore a metal dress and kept things more rock n’ roll…this was added to by the fact I rode around in a shopping trolley. This look is one you might like to bring out on NYE, but don’t ditch the Stella boots for heels, no one wants to bring in the New Year with crippled toes!
In true YGSF style we must go out with a big bad unicorn BANG! The Pop Art rainbow unicorn was THE look of 2016. I wore it at the best festival i’ve ever been to and it featured some of the BEST things in life! It’s also custom made/ one of a kind, so that adds on an extra 550 points to the outfit.
We hope your 2016 was nuts! The YGSF New Years resolution is to make our 2017 wardrobe even more bonkers than this one!
