Boutiques We Love

YGSF are known for for loving a handful of things: unicorns, watermelons, almond butter, Harry Styles, rainbows, and vintage. The latter love has left us collaborating with some really alternative vintage brands. Our most recent love affair is with Lime Green Bow, their pop-up is located conveniently close to home, 201 Portobello Road to be exact!

We did a shoot with the vintage gang replicating some of the looks we saw on the catwalk for SS17. Here’s a handful of the looks…in the form of fruit!

The Grapefruit

This Katherine Hamnett suit  was my absolute favourite for  2 obvious reasons. 1) It’s double denim, 2) It’s psychedelic and looks like a rainbow threw up all over me. The two-piece thang has popped up on the catwalk a few times for SS17, however you wear it it’s always going to turn heads and takes kitsch maximalism to whole new heights! Katherine Hamnett became famous in the 80’s for her slogan tee’s, so naturally I paired the look with my modern day SS17 Moschino slogan tee.

Why grapefruit? Because of the colour…very original, I know.

The Cherry

The most rock n’ roll fruit is only suitable for look 2. Miss Lime Green Bow (Clemmie) herself helped me put this one together, pulling aside the t-shirt dress because “it’s absolutely you!” That’s pretty accurate, anything with vintage Versace swagger, I love. I’m a big fan of oversized but sometimes you have to add a little shape, which is where Clemmies silver chain belt came into the picture. The real showstopper (yes I have been watching Bake Off), comes from the Frank Usher sequinned bomber. It screams Hedi Slimane Saint Laurent, and i’m a sucker for Hedi!

P.s. I got changed into this look behind a Deliveroo bike and used a taxi window as a mirror, the world of fashion is oh so glamorous.

The Mixed Fruit Salad

I’m not sure how I feel about fruit salads they kind of gross me out, but when they’re made with the freshest of fruit they’re damn foineee! That is exactly this case with this next look.

The jacket is Ungaro and dramatic in every way. You’d think the bangin’ yellow and floral prints would be enough, but the big shoulder pads gives it that 80’s edge. 80’s jackets were a definite trend on the catwalk this September, you’d just have to look at Balenciaga, Gucci and Saint Laurent to notice that. The trousers speak for themselves, they’re mental and remind me of Moschino back in  the day!

The Lime Green Bow pop up is going to be around until November 6th, so i’d suggest getting yourselves over there quickly to get your SS17-esque vintage gear. You can also sign up for first dibs on new arrivals via the website. I’d definitely recommend doing this because Clemmies pieces are super exclusive and get snapped up quickly, so go Go GO!!!
