INTRODUCING to YG TV…Stef Dawson, the Australian firecracker (not just because of her fabulous red hair), ray of sunshine, and hugely talented actress! Stef is most well known for her role as Annie Cresta, in The Hunger Games Mockingjay pt.1 & 2, as well as Catching Fire. However, you probably have also seen her spammed across my Instagram for the majority of last year after spending 6 weeks together in New York, and 5 weeks filming in the Australian outback. In the latest episode of YG TV Stef and I sat down in an eclectic Lower East Side studio, to discuss life in The Hunger Games, taking risks and trusting your gut in auditions, treating your acting career as a business, and the debate on drama school!
Stef and I first met whilst filming Australian feature film, The Dust Walker. In Cue, 8 hours away from reality, we bonded over avocados, burned coffee, Magnums and aliens that did not exist?! I was lucky to go through my first film experience with someone as grounded, upbeat and experienced as Stef. This Ozzy ray of sunshine may have worked alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Julianne Moore, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, however she is as humble as pie, and taught me so much on our very intense, yet incredible journey together. Having grown her career all by herself as a passionate, young girl in Camberra, Stef has come on leaps and bounds, and I CANNOT WAIT to see what she does next!!
