I am absolutely buzzing like a unicorn rainbow on acid, to announce the launch of the very first YGSF camouflage jacket collection!! We’ve chucked in few Insta teasers (i’m sure you’ve been stalking us on Instagram as a form of procrastination) but today we’re giving you the full collection…the whole SHEBANG! Think tongue n’ cheek slogans combined with dope graffiti and a slice of watermelown, all splashed on to a vintage army jacket!

You can check out the full launch video and interviews with the artists above and practice your reading skills below!

A bit about the jackets:

I’d been thinking a lot about dipping my manicured toes into the design world, but the fact I can’t even sew a button onto a pair of jeans has always stopped me. Luckily my obsession with graffitied jackets got a little too much (especially after coming across Laurie Lee Leather), and I became so sick of unsuccessfully hunting for an army jacket with a giant unicorn on the back, that I gave in and decided to design my own!

A little backstory behind some of the designs:

I guess the most entertaining slogan for me would be “Water My Lawn.” I met this dude at Gottwood festival last year and he called me watermelawnn because of the ravishing watermelon earrings I was wearing. When we got back to London the watermelawnn thing continued and let’s just say it became a metaphor for one or two things that I won’t mention…but i’m sure you get the gist.

The artists:

Rather than actively seeking my artists I came across them organically. Jhovelle I met at LFW when we were snapped together in our graffiti jackets. Jhovelle is in the process of creating his own brand, Tueur De Mode, which focuses on graffiti customisation…and studs, he loves studs.

I met Giulia  whilst she was painting shoes in the window of the Superga store on Carnaby Street. She painted dope unicorns and rainbows on mine. Giulia’s a wizard with a paintbrush and I just knew I had to make use of her mad skills, hence why I poached her for this project!

Some details:

I source all the jackets myself, they’re all vintage which means that no one is the same. Each jacket is hand painted and can be customised with any piece or art work or quirky slogan that you like!

I’m sure by now you’re absolutely GAGGING to add a little YGSF to your wardrobe!! You can shop our collection of random fabulousness NOW, just drop me an email or “slide into my Instagram DM.” I look forward to sharing them with you!
